This course is intended for those who may be exposed to hazards such as low oxygen, caustic, or toxic atmospheres. Respiratory Protective equipment is extremely crucial to the wellbeing of any worker who may be exposed to a hazardous environment.

Course Description

Protective breathing apparatus is extremely crucial to the well-being of any worker who may be exposed to a hazardous environment. Failure to use this equipment could lead to unsuccessful rescue attempts, injuries and/or fatalities. Employees should be knowledgeable of potentially hazardous environments, the requirements for wearing protective breathing apparatus, the proper procedures for donning, doffing and inspecting the apparatus as well as the proper care and maintenance of the equipment. There are two types of SCBA, belt-mounted regulators (BMR) and mask-mounted regulators (MMR). An SCBA can also be an open or closed-circuit unit.

In-Class Training – 4 hours (approximately)

Online Theory – 1.5 hours (approximately)

Course Completion

​

The quiz at the end of this course is intended and designed to strengthen your understanding of its contents. A passing mark of 80% is required and you have two retries of the quiz to achieve this. Upon successful completion of this course, a unique digital certificate, valid for three years, will be available to download and print.
