Routine maintenance and new road and infrastructure construction are required through the north, not only to keep roadways safe but also to build new areas where new homes can be placed.
During the 6 week course, we focus on developing the skills for students to perform both of these tasks. They will learn the steps and procedures needed to repair roads with the grader, tasks like resurfacing, ditch clean out, and the procedures needed to build new roads that are safe to travel on.
Our in depth instruction includes learning how to proficiently operate the machine to basic project management strategies to be productive and communicate better with leadership.
There will also be training on culvert installation. This particular training will increase the longevity and effectiveness of culverts by teaching proper installation techniques.
Basic surveying will also be including this package. Students will be able to accurately check elevations, which is critical in road and culvert construction.
