Course Description

The course includes a review of confined space legislation and best practices for confined space rescue, providing an overview of relevant equipment, planning concepts, and rescue techniques. The Confined Space Basic Rescue Program for your workplace outlines the necessary prerequisites for rescuers to safely enter and attempt rescue from a confined space. By the end of this course, participants should be familiar with basic concepts, hazards, hazard control processes, and safe work procedures associated with rescuing a co-worker from a confined space. However, end-users should not consider this material alone as complete training; rather, it is expected that workplaces will apply this information when creating their own company-specific Confined Space Rescue program as part of their broader Health & Safety Management System, recognizing that certain statements in this program may not apply due to differing policies, procedures, and equipment across various work sites.
