Students will be introduced to basic lifesaving techniques and procedures which can be utilized by personnel in Northern Canada, bringing a higher level of care to those who are injured. These tools can be used both in the vicinity of the towns and hundreds of kilometres away from the nearest Medicenter. Ultimately, you will see success in lives saved and safer communities in the north.

Upon completion of the training, students will be able to assess the medical status of persons who are in need and provide them with care until higher medical practitioners are available. Students will also assess rescue timelines and be informed on how to use GPS to confirm positioning and establish communications with other elements.
